Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr. Elliot Stetzer
Medical Director
Dr. Elliot’s journey in veterinary medicine began at just 9 years old when he started volunteering at a local animal clinic near his childhood home—cleaning cages, assisting around the practice, and unknowingly stepping into what would become his life’s purpose. His early dedication laid the foundation for a career centered on dermatology and pathology, where he has spent years mentoring, educating, and shaping future veterinarians, including his time as a professor of pathology at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Elliot is eager to continue his history of volunteer work with local animal rescues in South Carolina, something he was deeply involved in while living in Florida. Outside of veterinary medicine, he enjoys landscape and architectural photography, butterfly gardening, and spending time with his wife and family.

Dr. Maria Milhouse, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Maria Milhouse discovered her passion for veterinary medicine early in life, inspired by a deep love for animals and a surprising enthusiasm for her own childhood vet visits. That early interest evolved into a lifelong commitment to animal health and wellbeing.
She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 2025 and has since developed strong clinical interests in internal medicine, dermatology, cardiology, and small mammal exotic care. Dr. Milhouse enjoys the challenge of complex medical cases and is passionate about delivering thoughtful, individualized care while building lasting relationships with pet owners.
When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Milhouse enjoys spending time outdoors, heading to the beach, trying her hand at golf, or relaxing at home with a true crime documentary. She shares her home with her fiancé, Lane, and their cat, Wednesday.
Meet Our Staff

Sam
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Sam is a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) with many years of experience in the veterinary field, officially earning her credentials in January 2025. She’s passionate about animal care and finds great fulfillment in being part of a profession that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of both pets and their people.
Outside the clinic, Sam enjoys curling up with a good book, diving into a new painting, or heading out on adventures with her two golden retrievers, who keep life fun, furry, and full of love.

Rachel S.
Veterinary Technician
Rachel was born and raised in Charleston, SC. She started as a kennel technician at a local daycare and did volunteer work at a local equine rescue, which both fueled her passion for animals and pushed her to start working as a veterinary technician in 2018. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 6 dogs, friends & family, line dancing, watching college football (Go Tigers), boating, hiking, and really anything to get her outdoors.

Tim
Veterinary Assistant
Tim joined our team in 2025, bringing with him over a decade of compassion, skill, and dedication to veterinary medicine. With years of experience helping animals heal and feel their best, he’s become known for his calm presence, sharp eye for detail, and genuine empathy for every furry patient.
At home, Tim is a proud cat dad to Luna, a rescued feline queen who keeps life interesting. Outside of the clinic, he loves soaking up the sun at the beach, exploring hiking trails, diving into creative writing, and enjoying his favorite music.

Julia
Veterinary Assistant
Julia joined our team in 2025 but has been working in the veterinary field for many years, beginning in emergency medicine before moving into general practice. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in animal science. Julia grew up surrounded by animals and knew as early as age seven that she wanted to dedicate her life to caring for them.
At home, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and together they share a lively crew of five pets—Remy, Venus, Nellie, Ziggy, and Pollo—as well as a leopard gecko named Pistachio.

Tiffany
Practice Manager
Tiffany has been part of the veterinary field since 2015, bringing compassion, organization, and a deep love for animals to everything she does. As Practice Manager, she is dedicated to supporting both the team and the clients, ensuring a smooth and caring experience for every pet that comes through the door. Tiffany is currently working toward her Certified Veterinary Office Manager (CVOM) designation and plans to pursue her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) certification as she continues to grow in the field.
Outside of the clinic, Tiffany enjoys traveling—especially to the beach—crafting, and spending quality time with her family. She’s also a proud pet parent to three furbabies: Spooks, Ruby, and Jax.

Kelsey G.
Veterinary Assistant
Kelsey, who is Cat Friendly Certified, started with our team in mid-2023, and has been labeled our hospital’s ‘Cat Whisperer.’ She has had animals her whole life and has cared for them for years. She decided to follow her calling for wildlife care and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Biology. She started working in veterinary medicine to learn more about animals and has the goal of continuing to learn and, hopefully, one day, traveling around the world to do sanctuary conservation work and open her own one day.

Lindsey
Customer Service Representative
Lindsey is a cat cuddler by night and vet receptionist by day, and she’s been part of the LVH family for nearly three years. Animals have been in her life since before she could spell “meow,” and her passion for caring for them shines through every day at the clinic.
Outside of work, Lindsey is powered by anime marathons, chaotic playlists, and a never-ending stack of story-filled notebooks. She shares her home with four fabulous felines and one delightfully sassy Chihuahua—her loyal (and often dramatic) sidekicks. Lindsey thrives on all things nerdy, creative, and heartfelt. Whether she’s reading, writing, or serenading her pets like they’re the stars of a musical, she’s always chasing the next spark of inspiration.

Cody K
Technician
Cody joined our team in 2018. He is the dad of seven fur-babies and six reptiles. He enjoys spending time with family and friends & in his free time, you can find him enjoying the outdoors or at the beach.

Alivia G.
Veterinary Technician
Alivia, who is a Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional, started with our team in mid-2022 with over five years of experience under her belt. She has been a great asset to LVH. In her free time, Alivia enjoys being at one with nature, hiking, painting, and traveling. She has three cats – Shadow, Willow, and Kiki, whom she loves very much. She grew up in Kentucky and moved to the Lowcountry a few years ago. She hopes to learn and meet as many of our patients as she can!

Nichole
Head Veterinary Assistant
Nichole joined our team in 2021, bringing with her many years of experience in veterinary healthcare driven by a lifelong passion for animals. Known for her bubbly personality and excellent communication skills, she connects effortlessly with both her team and pet parents. Nichole thrives in an environment where she can continue to grow in her field while learning from teammates who have become like family. At the end of Summer 2022, Nichole earned the well-deserved title of Head Veterinary Assistant, recognized for her initiative, determination, and strong, honest work ethic.
At home, she loves spending time with her two adorable tabby cats, Benson and Astro, and her energetic Boxer, Maybel. Outside of work, she cherishes quality time with her children and family.

Karima A.
Assistant Practice Manager
Karima is our Assistant Practice Manager, who started with the Goose Creek Vet team in 2016 but has been here at Ladson since the opening in 2019. She has a long background in veterinary care. She started off as an office manager for a large and small animal hospital in West Texas, where she is from, and made her way to the nursing side shortly after. She moved to the Lowcountry in 2015 and joined our team shortly after. She’s a lover of all creatures large and small and has six fur-babies of her own: Atlas – a Siberian Husky; Cinna – an Australian Shepherd Mix; a Black short-haired cat named Hela; a Grey Tabby named Zephyr; a black and white shorthair named Berlioz; and the newest addition – an orange tabby named Rajah. Together, they are sweet, fluffy couch potatoes that enjoy long cuddle sessions, eating snacks, taking naps, and watching Twilight or Harry Potter. Karima recently obtained the title of a Cat Friendly Veterinary Advocate from the American Association of Feline Practitioners and hopes to continue her education on better understanding the complexity of our friendly felines.
